Wordless Wednesday: Waiting at Lacrosse

This isn't really "wordless" but when are they ever?

I am mostly just wanting to put these on the internet for all the world to see...because my 11yo asked that I not put these on Facebook.

And have I? Nope...he forgot to be clear in his stipulations. And thusly I have blogged them instead.

We were waiting for our neighbor to finish up lacrosse practice. (As my friend said about us "You are so 'It takes a village' aren't you?" Yes, we try...and since her practice ended later, we had to wait. No big deal. Ample time to chat with my 11yo one-on-one, which honestly does not happen very often without a TV on in the background and I was thankful for the opportunity.)

And during our chat I thought he was being so sweet and charming that I REALLY wanted to get a good picture of him.

Capture the moment, if you will.

However in spite of my best efforts, this is the type of picture I was getting:

In case you didn't know, this is not sweet and charming. This is more "Impersonation of the Hunchback of Notre Dame."

Not what I wanted.

When I FINALLY begged, pleaded and begged some more and was able to get this:

Not the best picture ever taken...of him or anyone really, but still...it was his quintessential always-closed-lipped, mostly-a-straight-line smile.

The smile is really in his eyes.

And yes, the sign behind him which shows were were parked in a "No Parking Any Time" area is really just the icing on the cake.

As you already knew, I'm such a rebel. But perfectly captured the moment.
