The Truth About PBA

Before you go any further, please understand that I’m truly not making fun of a serious illness…I am mostly making fun of myself...so do not take me seriously at all.

This is about as shallow as I get.

But lightening may still strike me dead (or at least strike to maim or injure me severely), so you might want to watch your step around me.

Erase your browser history if you have to.

Show no association with me whatsoever.

I would do it if I were you.

Wow…that’s quite a build-up. Are you ready?

Just a PSA (Public Service Announcement) on using a new-to-you TLA (Three Letter Acronym): Make sure you research any OTHER uses for the same TLA.

Case in point…perhaps (and this is only a perhaps…no one will ever know for certain) I should have looked further into “PBA” before I began using it to refer to my boys and our homeschool:
  • PBA is a medical condition characterized by sudden and uncontrollable episodes of crying or laughing.
  • It is sometimes referred to as emotional lability, pathological crying and laughing or emotional incontinence.
  • An episode of PBA can occur at any time, even in inappropriate social situations.

Actually…when you put it like that, it does kind of sound like us.

    1. Actually, my parents saw a commercial advertising medication for PBA, which of course, encouraged me to Google it. :) And yes, that's one of my favorite photos of them. :)
