Yelling to Be Heard

Just a quick little PSA for you on a Sunday night:

When you talk to someone who does not speak your language, resist the urge to yell at them in order to be heard.

It rarely, if ever, works out well.

The same theory applies when dealing with your child who all of a sudden does not appear to speak the same language as you.

It rarely, if ever, works out well either.

And shocking though this may be, the yelling MIGHT actually make things worse.

  1. I do believe this is a lesson we all need to learn, usually the hard way.
