Day 6 Close-up of Banana w/ Yeast |
In science we are studying the different classification kingdoms. This experiment was for Kingdom Fungi. We took two pieces of banana and wet them with water. We put one piece in each bag. To the bag on the left we added yeast. Did you know that yeast was in Kingdom Fungi and that it is a decomposer?
Neither did we.
But now we all do.
You.are.welcome.

I concur. That's gross. But now I know what to do when we have another raccoon deposited on our front yard that my husband and I fight to ignore, hoping the other one will take care of it. I will simply sprinkle it with yeast and call it a science experiment. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, everything can be pulled back into science. Glad you are learning that. :)
DeleteNow I am picturing Christine going to Sam's Club buying a giant vat of yeast to help with animal decomposition… yuck!
DeleteYup...beer is just decomposed barley or wheat. Drink up!
ReplyDeleteOh...so that's why I hate it so much... decomposition doesn't even sound very tasty...
DeleteWhat's funny (not in a LOL kind of way) is that I knew that but for some reason never fully thought about it.
DeleteBut it is tasty...sorry Kari.
Man, that's icky. I bet the PBA love it though...boys like nasty stuff like that!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I was fully anticipating an acronym for G.R.O.S.S. *so disappointed*
;) J/k
Sorry to disappoint...just keeping you on your toes, right? ;)
DeleteAnd feel free to come up with what G.R.O.S.S. could mean, relating to this post. :) I'm always up for a contest.
ooh, I fear I am not clever enough for that... but, if I were to give it a go, I would start with G standing for....Gross...or Grody... See? nothing clever coming from here!
